Re: Leaving Internet cable modems on all the time?

If I unplugged the Internet cable I'd have no phone.
Old fashioned circuit-switched land line phones are no longer available where I live.

Re: Stopping and starting games

When you play games do you start playing and only stop when you've finished? Or do you sometimes start playing, then stop for a while and pick up the game again later? I do have pauses between playing of sometimes a week or more. I'd have forgotten the game by then. If a game is short, like a casua...

Re: still life

Maybe because the save was made on the disc version and the Steam version isn't compatible?
The save is from 2006 -- pre-Steam.

Since the save for the disc version isn't working for you, try using Len Green's Still Life Laser Puzzle Solution <--link

Re: back button doesn't work

I'm not having this problem at Adventuregamers, and have no problem using the back button there. But I'm not using Windows either and that may be the difference.

Re: back button doesn't work

If it's not something in browser history or cache, the only thing I can think of is that your Firefox has gone corrupt. I had Firefox break once. Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox didn't work. After uninstalling Firefox, I had to go into C:\Users\ username \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox and dele...

Re: missing dll

Some people have reported that they had to disable their antivirus before re-installing DirectX in order for the dll to be installed properly.

Re: accept third party cookies

It might depend on which company is hosting Candy Crush versus the other games.
Or maybe they made a mistake and forgot about restricting Candy Crush (don't tell them).

"First party" cookies are from the website you visit. Cookies contain bits of information about your web browser, your settings, what websites you've visited, etc. "Third party" cookies come from websites you don't knowingly visit, but which have embedded code and trackers in the...

Re: DVD Player

Is your computer a name brand? We might be able to find instructions for how to replace the DVD drive if you have a name brand and model number for your computer. When the computer case uses screws to hold in the DVD drive, it's fairly obvious what to do to remove the DVD drive. Once the screws (and...

Re: yahoo mail

If you Google for "Yahoo Account Key" you can find many posts from people who tried it and wanted to go back to using regular username/password. They found using the "Yahoo Account Key" "too complicated" and had trouble accessing their email. It supposedly locks your em...

Re: new laptop or Ipad or something?

Does he ever answer the emails or send messages? If so, he needs something with a keyboard. There is a Bluetooth keyboard that you can get for the iPad, but it isn't a full size keyboard. Before purchasing one, he should try one out in a store. An iPad would probably be more expensive than a low end...

Re: What do you think..

Find another vet.
This one doesn't seem to like animals.
If she was worried about germs, she shouldn't have had the baby in the same area where pets have access, and there was no need to be nasty about asking you to remove the dog.

Looks like you had fun.
Thanks for posting the pictures and descriptions.
That's great you got to see Park Guell and other examples of Gaudi's art.
