"I love hedgies - not seen a live one here on Sanday yet"

May we ask if you've seen the other kind, Rosa? I'm getting very disturbed images here.

Snow's going now and bulbs are coming through, I think they were growing under the snow.

This is a parody of Simon and Garfunkle's Sounds of Silence, a fitting tribute to our past horrible winter: http://tinyurl.com/mo7cgbx

Re: Help choosing a new computer?

Rosa, you've just got to put a pic of the new baby up when you're finished!

Re: Ken Follett

I'm going to have a look for the Crowner series. Thanks, always looking for more recommendations, usually for Brian. Me, I'm reading Terry Pratchett's Equal Rites and Steam just now and waiting for a bunch of Leslie Thomas books I've ordered.

Re: Ken Follett

We've read and loved both those books. I think he's better when he's writing historical novels, rather than contemporary. If you like historical books, you might like to look at C.J. Sansom and his Shadrake books, about a lawyer in the time of Henry VIII.

All you have to do is get over that impossibly cute heroine with the bambi eyes and bee-stung lips.

Hope you like it as much as I did, Rosa! I'm doing some of Peter's jigsaws at the moment.

No, I just pricked them like a baked potato and put my all purpose microwave cover on them.

Re: The Recipe Exchange.

No stir fries, but here's a funny little thing I've just learned. Did you know that whole carrots can be cooked in the microwave, like a baked potato, only peeled first? Not only is it quick, but they taste better than boiling or steaming!

Re: Thief 4

The original graphics were definitely dated, but the thing was, the game was so great that you became engrossed in it and never noticed the graphics at all. I was never even sure that No.3 lived up to the first two, as they made it somewhat different. I think I just wanted to play "Cargo" or its equ...

Re: Thief 4

Still a great favorite with me, replayed over and over. Until fairly recently I could never get Thief 2 to run at all, but someone at TTLG brought out "Taffer Patch" which makes it run perfectly.

Thief 4

Thief (actually Thief 4) is being released on Steam on February 25th. http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/239160/ It's rather pricey at $44.95 US and is actually a remake of the first Thief game, albeit with much much better artwork and realistic people (civilians and guards). Seems like we'v...

Re: What Casual Games Are You Playing Right Now, Continued

I'm replaying Flux Family Secrets - Book of Oracles which I've had for ages and forgotten about. It's a good game with decent puzzles and not too hard to find objects, but what I really like is that in any scene, HOG or ordinary, I can right click and get a magnifying glass, which even allows me to ...

Re: The Recipe Exchange.

I used to just get a bottle of sweet and sour sauce and heat the cooked wings in it. Easy but messy.
