Re: Recommendations

The second Barrow Hill was even worse about going round and round. But it was mostly because of the horrid point and click interface. I've learned to hate it after getting used to being free to go where I want in the newer games! I really did love Draugen and will look forward to more or Edward and ...

Re: Recommendations

The Barrow Hill games are a good creepy choice - especially if you like the ancient Cornwall type of scariness! Games that are that old are always going to be cheaper! I don't mind paying $20 for a new game, but I sure want to have more than 2 - 3 hours of gameplay!

Re: Recommendations

Well, I am NOT going to recommend Draugen! But not because I didn't love the game - I did. But $20 for maybe 2 - 3 hours of gameplay? And no solving of the mystery in the mine? No pulling together the Draugen Norwegian mythology with the storyline? No resolution of the dead bodies? The one mystery s...

Re: Recommendations

Val, if you liked Draugen, you will also probably like Through the Woods which is classified as Horror Adventure. It's also set in Norway and features a mother searching for her son in the Norwegian forests. Liked this one so much I played it twice in a row! More beautiful graphics and a great story...

Re: Recommendations

I'm really liking how the story is developing. I must say if anyone is looking for old fashioned point and click type games, they are getting very hard to find. Ghostlady, although it doesn't have a creepy house, if you want the good old point and click type, Barrow Hill The Ancient Circle and Barro...

Re: Recommendations

I got mine from GOG, RB. I prefer using them if I can.

This game REALLY reminds me of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. I finally got through Day 2! Thought I was stuck, but I had neglected to check out a window in the General Store and I need to talk to Alice more.

Re: Recommendations

I will have to look into Draugen, Val. I've heard good things about it. I'm always interested in anything Norwegian!

Re: Look what the cat brought in

It's great to see you back! And speaking of backs, how is yours? My great bliss since I retired 10 years ago this summer is being able to read all I want! While there is nothing to compare to the feel and smell of real pages, I have gone to the Kindle app on my Surface tablet and even on my desktop....

Re: Recommendations

I really enjoyed Goetia. You play as a ghost and there are many creepy scenes. It's a bit off the beaten path, but was fun. I definitely needed a walkthrough a few times! https://www.gog.com/game/goetia The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was definitely a very creepy game. It's not set inside a house, but...

Re: Imbueing and Other Help and Hints in Diablo II

I forgot all about the secret cow level. I wanted to do it, but I no longer have Wirt's leg. I'm working on the Baal level now. It was a rainy day today and I really couldn't do anything outside, so I got in several hours of Diablo. That's a good suggestion about backing up the saves. The other stuf...
