Re: Aveyond games

Thanks Shany - turn-based RPGs are my kind of game as opposed to real-time RPGs.

Aveyond games

What kind of games are the "Aveyond" series? Are they RPG-ish, or RPG-lite? Long? Do people like them? They're on Bigfish so not expensive for me to get.

Re: Ceville Review

Thanks for the review DB. You covered the game pretty well.

Even from such a detailed review I find it hard to tell if I'm going to like a game!

Re: Ceville Review

I enjoyed this game, it was very welcome after thinking no more fun Adventures were being produced, but I enjoyed it in spite of the game in several ways. Didn't think "Ceville" was any less predictable than other games out there, but that's subjective. The game felt it needed a bit more p...

Re: Computer point & Click Games

Eschalon Book II will remedy the lack of choice as regards the gender of your character.

There's quite a range of casual games now.

Re: Movies Watched in 2009

I expect "Dragonball Evolution" to be a silly movie, but now and then silly movies amuse me. Thanks for keeping us posted on your impressive viewing record Sneaker!

Re: Movies Watched in 2009

It's great to experience a film (or a book or a game) without any expectations, but I rarely manage it. "Bolt" was well-made, but not a classic film in the way "Toy Story" was for me. Movies that take themselves lightly can be a lot more fun than the serious ones. I'll probably s...

Re: Movies Watched in 2009

Thanks for spawning a new thread Lady Kestrel! Frightening to see how many movies Sneaker sees, and then read he says others watch far more! Thanks for posting about that site Sneaker, something like that could be very useful to me. I don't trust averages as a way of working out the best movie / gam...

Re: Perry Rhodan: The Immortals Of Terra Review

To get the handle going through Perry you had to fail to pick up an item in the Titan control room (I missed it completely as the hotspot was close to the positronic), then go to the tunnel leading to the second shuttle. Perry stands in a different position than if you do things correctly, and the h...

Re: Perry Rhodan: The Immortals Of Terra Review

Good detailed review DB! And good to see games like this appearing without action or timed sequences! The dialogue with Quotter Batt was particularly appealing. The hotspots were confusingly close at places true. I got Perry operating a pump and the pump handle went right through him. Picking up an ...

Re: Fate By Numbers

Not exactly a review I know, sorry guys. The download is big (over a gig because of all the movies in it.) It may be more of interest for seeing what is possible on a limited budget!

Fate By Numbers

This is a freeware game made as a student project at a Dutch university. The game's website is at http://www.fatebynumbers.com/ . There's also an interesting post-mortem at http://www.gamecareerguide.com/features/460/student_postmortem_fate_by_.php . This game is short. The playing experience is rat...

Good LadyK - glad to see you're keeping busy!

This is one of the few games I've replayed, the ambience just worked for me.
