Re: Jigsaw puzzles

It's a red letter day for me - I belong to many local "Buy & Sell" sites on Facebook - but you have to be quick if you want to snap u p a real bargain. Yesterday someone advertised 35 x 1,000 and 1,500 piece jigsaw puzzles for just £2 each, and guess who answered the advert first. I simply cant beli...

Re: My Summer has simply flown by!

Yes, it is heather, Drac. As you know, I spent two months this past Winter in Rogart, renting a little cottage, while we looked for a new home. When I returned to Rogart in June, I was driving along with my mouth open in amazement at the great change in the scenery - just awash with the brilliant co...

Re: Jigsaw puzzles

I too have recently rediscovered my childhood and started to do jigsaw puzzles again, although I dont have much free time just now - but I think this will be one of my hobbies this coming Winter. I have a lovely big dining table in the kitchen which I plan to use for this purpose!

My Summer has simply flown by!

It's been a long and tiring Summer for me - first I spent 8 weeks in April/May packing up my home on Sanday, and then after being nomads for a couple of weeks when we were homeless, we eventually moved into our new house on 3rd June. Since then, I have been working non-stop unpacking and finding new...

Sad news

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you that my long time Canadian friend Diane/Dragon passed away this morning. Some older MM members may remember we both came here from Game Nuts. I am devastated - I had planned to revisit her next year.

Re: Packing Chaos

Sorry I havent been here for a while, but as you can imagine, life has been a bit manic for us. We feel like nomads - my doggies are so confused as we will have had 4 different residences in the last 10 days, but the end is near. Last Monday we left our Sanday home, and set sail on two ferries and a...

Re: Just thinking

I wish, Drac - there are so so many questions left unanswered in my Family Tree, and nobody left to answer them!

Re: Just thinking

Well I have just quickly read the first 6 pages of Mum's journal - very interesting - all to do with what the soldiers had to contend with when they came back from the Great War - very distressing to read about - she sure had a talent for writing, that's for sure!

Re: Packing Chaos

They did a very very professional job, as I knew they would - the two guys spent most of the day here, filling up two vans, albeit a shorter working day as they had to work around the ferry sailings. I am so very pleased to see all the boxes that Tanya and I packed disappear - It's now only 25 days ...

Re: Packing Chaos

Re: Just thinking

29 days to Moving Day, Linda! This is what I brought back from Jersey - two of which completey filled my rucksack and the other two filled a small case - they seemed to weigh a ton by the end of my journey. And I also found a hand-written journal of Mum's - about 50 pages long - I have not had time ...

Re: Just thinking

It's been a very busy and tiring three days for me. I travelled 13 hours nonstop, 5 airports, 4 flights on Wednesday, a whole day in Jersey on Thursday where I had several meetings, and picked up the last of Mum's belongings, and returned yesterday with the same long itinerary as Wednesday. I forgot...

Re: Just thinking

Mum's wishes were to be scattered at sea - I have to find a secluded spot near the sea, as I really dont want an audience when I do this - I didnt sleep a wink last night - I was walking around the entire coastline of Jersey in my mind, trying to find such a spot. Oh, I have just had a brilliant tho...
