I have had a battle with PC Specialist each and every day, and it has all left me very stressed out and totally furious with them, and I am not exaggerating here. They are just THE most impossible supplier to deal with. As from last Monday, they denied receiving my substantial amount of money, they denied receiving an order from me, they denied receiving any emails from me, when I tried to call them, the phone was not picked up - in desperation I went to their Facebook page and started to vent my spleen on there - cautiously at first, giving them a chance to speak up for themselves, asking had this Company in fact ceased trading? but still silence from them. Then other people in the same position as me started to reply to my posts, and I realised very quickly that PC Specialist was NOT the good supplier that I at first thought they were. Alarm bells went off in my head, and I really started to panic that I had maybe lost all of my money to this (maybe now defunct) Company.

I upgraded my comments in a stronger tone, and at last someone from PC Specialist decided to reply to me on Facebook - So FB does have its uses sometimes eh? They said that their Customer Services team had been snowed under - gee why does that not surprise me? - and could not cope with the volume of calls and emails etc. They also stated that their Production Team were also not able to cope with the current amount of orders they have, especially Fast Track Orders. I then asked them why on earth, when they could not cope with their current orders, were they running a tv commercial trying to drum up even more business??? My original order had included a 650w power supply which was out of stock, so I then ordered the 750w power supply which by this time was also out of stock - How can a supplier this big run out of basic stock lines such as this?

This past week I have really "lost it" with them, and have even sworn at them, which is not like me at all. What started out as a dream of an order has once again turned into a nightmare - I keep asking myself why oh why does this always seem to happen to me? The result of all my complaining was for them to build the desktop in just one day, Friday, and I just hope that this has not just been thrown together to get it off the production line quickly - as you all know, I live on a very remote Scottish island where it would be an absolute nightmare for me to have to send this desktop back if for some reason it was faulty. I have just received an email and a text message telling me that my order is awaiting despatch this morning for the courier to collect it................... <sigh>

Oh, my goodness! This sounds like a small company trying to grow larger much too quickly and without adequate preparation with extra staff and having extra stock to meet the increased demand. Very poor management at the very least. My fingers are crossed that your computer and monitor will arrive safely and in good order. This is no way for a company to conduct business and they won't last long if they don't figure it out.

I must say that this eCollegePC here in St. Louis has continued to be excellent with their customer service, product availability and quality. I know they have grown enormously in the last few years. Greyfuss recently ordered one from them and a simple thing like a missing foot on the bottom of his case was addressed immediately when they took one off another case and sent it to him. PCSpecialists should take a lesson from them.

They should know all about conducting their business in a professional manner and with the adequate number of staff, Drac - they have been going for 11 years now! So no excuse.

I agree - absolutely no excuse at all. Horrible business management.

Seems typical of many business enterprises nowadays with ten people waiting to take your orders and your money and one person to deal with issues and product support. Hope it all works out. The last PC I bought online was from Mwave.com and I was very pleased with the quality and customer support. I had ordered an extra fan and when the unit arrived without it I placed and call and it was went promptly shipped. Of course shortly after I found said fan "hidden" in all the packaging. I guessed that the assembler didn't know where I wanted it mounted so just included it inside the box.

Outer packaging had taken quite a few knocks, and the parcel tape was hanging off completely,, so I have taken several photos before I started to unpack it.

No sign of any speakers - just this item which says Sound Blaster on it!

That's the control that came with the high-end sound card you put in this computer. Wow! Hopefully those speakers are there or will be shipped separately. Is the new monitor there?

I'm so excited!

Yes monitor is here (as yet unpacked), as is keyboard and "starter kit" which includes all the CDs and manuals etc. I hope I am not missing anything else other than the speakers? It's going to be a fun day tomorrow trying to connect all the cables LOL.
