hardware acceleration disabled
hardware acceleration disabled
all of a sudden this morning my screen went black and I restarted my computer. When it restarted, all my icons on my desktop were huge. I changed my screen resolution as it was now 600 x800 or something like that. the desktop looks better now and I can get on my sites. However, when I try and play my solitaire game now (which worked fine last night) it says hardware acceleration disabled or not supported. game is running in software rendering mode. What do I need to do to get my hardware acceleration back on? thanks.
Re: hardware acceleration disabled
when I tried to play Night of the Rabbit, I could get into the game, but it was choppy. so I went to dxdiag and found this. Is my video card driver not working?

Re: hardware acceleration disabled
I'm not an expert like, Drac, but I would guess it is your video driver. I would get into Device Manager and see if anything is showing under Display adapter. You may have to reinstall the driver.
Re: hardware acceleration disabled
We're working on this at Gameboomers. It appears her video card has failed and right now we're trying to decide which one to replace it with depending on her budget.

Re: hardware acceleration disabled
Okay. I had that issue on my HP laptop. Unfortunatley, since it was imbedded on my motherboard, the motherboard needed to be replaced. The good news was I had purchased the extended warranty and it was totally covered.
Re: hardware acceleration disabled
Yup, when components are integrated, if one thing goes bad, you have to replace everything!
I think we have it resolved for mbday as far as deciding what to order to replace the old video card.

Re: hardware acceleration disabled
My new video card was supposed to come today in the mail but the changed the date to February 13. ratski. I am wondering though, how come I can play my old games on scumm but not my games from steam?
Re: hardware acceleration disabled
The old games don't require hardware acceleration is probably the reason.
