Making Web Links Shorter

If you want to post a web link but see that the address is very long, you can shorten the link by renaming it. Here are the steps:

1. At the beginning of the http address, put [url=

2. At the end of the address, put a close bracket, like this: ]

3. After the bracket, type in your name for the link, such as "Here" or "Cats."

4. End with [/url]

All together, it'll look like this when typed:

[url=Web address goes here]Shortened Name Here[/url]

To see this finished one, just click the quote button:

Thank you LK, I think I am going to write that on a Post-it and stick it on the monitor, I always forget the = and the extra ]

Actually if you hover your pointer over the URL box, it will also tell you in case you forget where you wrote it down. I, on the other hand, NEVER forget where I put things! :sign5:
