Well all I can say is I am not alone in this issue. Will keep working at it and posting any interesting results as I go. Have yet to test all of this on my laptop which has Win 7. Should be a novelty to see what happens there. Plan to reinstall Firefox regardless of that message I got saying it was unsafe.

Also have some rearranging of files to do from that sinc program I was using that fouled me up so. Once done it will either maybe resolve some issues or bring me down. And if the latter - will give up and install upgrade to Win 7 on my desktop. Sigh

I'm still getting logged out with the Pro-Silver template using Safari on Mac OSX 10.5.8. Ah well, worth trying, thanks for the suggestion GL.

Well that's too bad. I don't know what else to look at. I've quirked it as much as I can without breaking some security feature.

Seems to be MAC and Mozilla.

Have looked at that link to the templates and my they have a goodly number of them! Was fun exploring and see all the different styles.

I saw one I would like to use but not sure if it is possible or that you would approve. It is called Weapons and Adventures. The color style really appealed to me.

Also GL I tried what one member said cured his log in problems - uninstalled Firefox, re-installed Firefox but it made no difference re my configuration. So for time being will use IE for MM site and remain logged in and Firefox for other sites to avoid the ads.

Thanks for your input and help re this thread.

If the Pro-silver didn't fix your problem, then the other templates won't either. I suggested it in case the Pro-silver did work. It is a lot of work adding updates to the templates so I try not to have too many of them. I thought if it did work and you didn't like the brightness, we could do another template to avoid that.

I understand and not a biggie problem. I was just going for the template, not hoping it would resolve the 'can't stay logged on' issue. Don't want to make more work for you than necessary. Enough stress these days without adding more :salut:

Also might you know what I can do to have the emails sent to me notifying me of posts to be on IE and not on Firefox?

Right now I use IE just for MM site because I can stay logged in. For all other sites I use Firefox. For some reason all my post notifications are coming via Firefox.

Maybe I should not make Firefox my default browser - would that solve it? At least I will go do that now and give it a try unless you have another idea.

As long as your email is in your profile, your emails will be sent to that address. Which browser you use is not relevant.

What changing your default browser will do is take you to MM using IE when you are clicking on the link in an email notification.

I understand. And think by making IE my default browser my post notifications will go to that browser. This notification came to IE after I made it my default Browser. OK Think I have resolved how to use my two browsers effectively to not get ads and yet stay logged onto MM site. Thanks to all who participated in this thread. Helped to find a way to final resolution of my problem.

I'm going to move this over to tech help in case someone else has a similar problem.

Just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that BD and I solved her log in issue on Firefox. Should have checked this first, but we found she did not have the "remember history" option selected in Tools/Options/Privacy. She now stays logged in.

So, one down at least!

Good information. I wouldn't have thought of that, even though it makes a ton of sense now (after knowing).

And it is still working! Sure takes time to solve some of these little annoying problems. One has to hunt and hunt around for resolutions - plus try them out again and again.

This one is holding.
