P. D. James
I just read that one of my favorite mystery authors, Phyllis Dorothy (P.D.) James, died at the end of November at the age of 92. I always liked her Adam Dalgliesh as a character, and her stories were well crafted with twists and turns that made it a challenge to figure out who the murderer was.

Yes, I saw that last week. Such a wonderful author. While down at the Ranch doing the closing one night, I listened to an interview Terry Gross had done with her back in the 1980's... just a wonderful listen, especially with no distractions but the ponies, pigs, ducks and goats!

Which of the television Dalgleishes did you like, Roy Marsden or Martin Shaw? Have to admit I'm not a great fan of Martin Shaw although the George Gently series is pretty good, especially Lee Engelsby.

Roy Marsden, although I do like most of the series that Martin Shaw does.

I liked Marsden in the part, too, and saw all of the mysteries with him as the star. I saw only one episode with Shaw, then lost track of the new series. I would have watched them, but always had other obligations the nights they were shown.
