Wasteland 2
Wasteland 2
Too many games to play at the moment! Including "Wasteland 2" which was very difficult to persuade to start executing on my Mac. Whenever I tried launching it a message about "Verifying" appeared and that was it.
Some hours of Googling later and I found a magic incantation (xattr –d -r com.apple.quarantine) which did the trick and now Wasteland 2 starts! But should I play that, or Dreamfall Chapters first? Impossible decision!

Re: Wasteland 2
Dreamfall Chapters takes about 3 hours, Wasteland 2 might take longer

Re: Wasteland 2
Oh, yeah... Wasteland 2 should definitely take a tad longer!

Re: Wasteland 2
It may take me a little longer with "Dreamfall Chapters" - I'm fighting the controls a little!
But I think I'll be playing "Wasteland 2" into the New Year!

That's what I like about those kinds of games...

Re: Wasteland 2
I have the same dilemma - backed both of them on Kickstarter and have just taken delivery of my Wasteland 2 in a lovely old-school big box with a proper manual and a cloth map!

Oh, my, Phlebas... what a terrible problem!

Lucky you Phlebas! I could use a cloth map!
Re: Wasteland 2
I'm enjoying "Wasteland 2" at the moment - game wise it's an old school RPG, nice familiar territory. The writing is good, near the start I had the choice of going to one of two places which needed help. The choice I made meant the other place didn't get help in time - perhaps I could have saved both places . . . don't think so. What I like is how the choice I made gets reflected in the dialogue you get afterwards. That makes the game world feel more alive, not just locations waiting for you to go and clear.
Re: Wasteland 2
I've heard this one has great graphics to go along with a pretty good story... The reflection of your choices in the dialogue would be a real plus! I've played so many where you wonder if you will ever find out how that choice affects the story.

Re: Wasteland 2
Just finished "Wasteland 2", and there were a lot of side quests I didn't do so whenever I replay there'll be new stuff to explore.
I did enjoy this one, plusses for me: good writing, game balanced so friendly to less experienced gamers (in some RPGs I get so far then hit unwinnable battles), fun upgrading one's weaponry.

Re: Wasteland 2
I was waiting to hear what you thought of it... sounds like a winner to me! I may have to add it to my "list." Thanks!

Re: Wasteland 2
I'm a pushover when it comes to the attractions of casting fireball spells which nuke everything in a large radius, or in "Wasteland 2"'s case letting rip with a rocket propelled grenade!
Re: Wasteland 2
Two of my favorites also! One of Geralt's spells in The Witcher is Igni and there is nothing like a fireball spell to dispense with monstors! My favorite weapon in Vampire Redemption was the RPG... BAM!
I'd love to start a "coolest weapons" in a game thread, but I don't think there are enough of us down here... Coolest weapons ever are in Prey.
