Sounds like an excellent starting point. Appreciate the advice.

Updated to latest AMD crimson driver suite. Nice.
Checked for yellow driver flags. Found: No drivers available for SM Bus Controller and USB Controller. Drivers were located elsewhere and installed.
Windows updates long neglected due to expired anti virus. 43 important updates. Downloaded and installed thereby initiating massive update of at least a dozen device profiles.
Everything working properly.

Shame on you Draclvr, you who are my Guru, The Wise Owl, The Goddess of Computer Knowledge in my eyes, letting your Win 7 go on with limited updates, it is a good thing I am not your neighbour or I would go over and Cuff you behind the ears, so please tell me that you were too busy and you forgot to keep your system up to date. OK, Ok, just kidding, I am sure I am having just a bad dream about my computer idol or that I have mis-read your comment.

Ha, ha! Ray, I have only booted up my Windows 7 drive once in at least the last 6 months! I'm sure it is rife with things needing my attention from updates to general maintenance! Now, my Windows 10 drive is pristine!

You made me laugh at the guru, wise owl etc. references! That is SOOOO far from the truth! Actually, you just made my day by making me laugh!
