I was recently reading snippets taken from our local newspaper,
written 100 years ago. It was so noticeable that we have lost the
better parts of our written word.

At the Police Court this morning his Worship the Mayor M.T.J.Thompson,
took a lenient view of a charge against a first offender of taking an
excursion beyond the bounds of sobriety and the misdemeanant was
allowed to depart enriched by some wholesome advice.
And this to prove not only the written word has changed.
At the Wellington Divorce Court yesterday the case of Spencer v Spencer
husband's petition, an order was made for the restitution of conjugal
rights within one month.
