Hubby's new laptop

Postby mbday630 » Sun Feb 12, 2017 1:04 pm

I have it that he can read his mail, but, every time he opens up his mail, I get an email and he gets prevented for one time of opening up his mail. We never got this with his old computer. this is what the email says that I get:

Your account is currently not enabled to sign in from apps, that do not meet modern security standards (ex. Older versions of mail and calendar apps such as Outlook). As a result, we prevented a sign in to your Yahoo account (lpetrie55).

Date and Time: Sun, Feb 12, 2017 9:26 AM CST
Location: United States (IP Address: 72.128.204.204)

We strongly recommend that you switch to Yahoo's apps such as Yahoo Mail on desktop and mobile and remove your account from all other less secure apps.

If you still want to use an app that uses less secure sign in, go to https://login.yahoo.com/account/security#other-apps and turn on "Allow apps that use less secure sign in". This is not recommended and may leave your account more vulnerable to compromise. To learn more, please visit our help page: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account/SLN27791.html

Yahoo blocked this sign in attempt, but if it looks suspicious to you or it’s not from an application that you’re using, go to https://login.yahoo.com/account/change-password and change the password for your account.

First off, I would run like the wind from any email account associated with Yahoo - although as evidenced by the email you get, they are FINALLY making an attempt at security. But if you choose to continue to use it, what are you using to sign into Yahoo? A browser? The Mail app? It appears to be having an issue with whatever you are using to sign in.
